Since graduating from Hamilton College last May with a BA in Creative Writing, I’m thrilled to be joining NorthSouth Books as a Publishing Assistant! While this is my first time working at a publishing house, in the past I’ve supported a variety of literary agents and helped customers select their perfect picture book at my local independent bookstore. I adore beautifully illustrated, lyrical stories that are as lovely to read aloud as they are to look at—which is why I know I’ve found a home with NorthSouth.
Along with providing administrative support, I will be managing NorthSouth’s social media channels and website; by doing so, I hope to share with an even broader audience the unique beauty and warmth of NorthSouth’s talented authors and illustrators.
I am a die-hard Rainbow Fish fan, though I’m also known to pine over Marie Rutkoski’s or Laini Taylor’s otherworldly imagination and their devastatingly sharp characters. Or, when I’m in need of a suckerpunch disguised as a hug, it doesn’t get any better than Fredrik Backman’s Beartown.
Aside from children’s books, I am very passionate about hockey, the Oxford comma, and Sweden. When I’m not cooking something elaborate (likely pasta), I can usually be found trying—and failing—to paint sentient fruits in the vein of Nele Brönner’s Lemon Child.
