Heide Stöllinger was born in Klagenfurt in 1941. She studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Since 1993 Heide Stöllinger has illustrated picture books and has received several honors, including: with the Golden Apple of the International Biennale for Illustration in Bratislava 1999, the nomination for the Hans Christian Andersen Prize 2006 and the Austrian Children and Youth Book Prize, most recently in 2011. She lives in Linz today.
